- Let them watch a parade, while you watch the awe in their eyes
- Swing with them at the park
- Go to the circus, even if you hate clowns
- The only time you'll like a clown is when you're at the Rodeo, so GO!
- Swim in a lake, and feel your feet in the muck at the bottom-and tell them how it feels
- Get in the car on a Sunday night, and GO-Somewhere-Break your own rules sometimes
- Dance with them to 'old' music
- Sing their songs with them, when the music is up too loud
- Hold them when they cry, even if they're bigger than you are
- Live with beliefs in God, Santa, The Easter Bunny, A Leprechaun, Halloween, & anything & everything else that is worth it's weight in gold all throughout the rest of your life
- Go to Disneyland
- Listen to them tell their storys
- Tell them storeys & Read them storeys...two totally different things...Use YOUR imagination
- Play Hide & Go Seek with them
- Build a lego castle
- Go on a hike, anywhere
- Bake with them
- Make Rules and abide by them yourself
- Teach them forgiveness
- Teach them to run in the rain & jump in puddles; I promise you won't melt
- Always have a goofy faced picture in your future, present, and past
- Laugh out loud
- Lay at night at watch the stars together
- Go camping
- Pass on traditions of your childhood and family
- Sleep under the stars, with the mosquitoes and weather...later on it will serve as a great story
- Roast Marshmallows, and make smores
- Play Monopoly
- Teach them to fish
- Go to their plays, games, and school events
- Have dinner in the living room for movie night
- Eat breakfast for dinner
- Let them choose their birthday dinner
- Teach them to respect themselves, and others-In that order
- Cupcakes sometimes belong in icecream cones
- Take them to a concert, of someone they've never heard of-of a genre that is out of their realm-Open their ears
- Teach them to sort laundry
- Have a piggy bank first, then a savings account, then a checking account
- Go to the Library
- Cut down a Christmas tree at least once
- A smile costs nothing-Use it when necessary, Oh?-That's daily...Share it with them by leading by example
- Instill the giving spirit at a young age - Guide them to give-We all have something to give all-of-the-time-to-someone-else
- Say please, thank you, and excuse me-they will also
- Remain focused on who they are, where they are, and not on who they aren't, what they don't have & where they'd 'rather' be...
- Everyone makes mistakes-Acknowledge when you do, they will learn that it's okay themselves to make mistakes...
- Perseverance, Drive, and Passion are a must...Find what brings these things out in them
- Ride a train
- Ride an elephant
- Go to the zoo at least once
- Invite their friends over
- Play stare eyes without blinking with them (You'll laugh!)
- Ro-sham-Bo is a great tool of chance...to use for EVERYTHING!
- Grow something...a garden, a potato in a glass, find something...life is beautiful and available all around us
- Race to the car
- Frame, and hang their artwork...in your home
- Display their hard work on the fridge, no matter what...be proud of them at every chance you get
- Go out to eat and teach them to sit with dignity and honor the family with manners
- Get two scoops instead of one, every once in a while
- Ride your bike with them
- Be a parent, have rules; stick to them
- Be a kid & let go some of the time...it's okay...just not all of the time
- Know where they are, who their with, and when they're going to be back-They need YOU to mold them for responsibilities that this world ends up throwing at them...at light speed when they're 18-Whether you like the world to or not...Zing, their time is coming...Help them be prepared

- Say I don't know, lets talk about it. Ask them to reason why they believe it would or should be okay. Teach them to talk it out.
- Let them change their hair, their room around, their style...these things change...Help them find themselves...they are not you...they are themselves...embrace who they are
- Protect them from danger
- Educate them, even if it's on tough matters and they think they know it all...be honest and upfront
- Donate your time with them towards a cause (Cancer walks, holidays, homeless,
- Go to the beach
- Fly a kite
- Have a party for no reason, have a party for a reason, have a party to reason
- Teach them who and where to go to in an emergency at all times, there is ALWAYS someone you can talk to~ANYTIME-ABOUT ANYTHING
- Play cards
- Eat dinner as a family...even if it's just two of you...eat together
- Find out the best part of their day-every day you can...and if something has happened that was negative...find a way to 'let it go'...no need to keep the yucky stuff
- Love their Grandparents...Spend time with them...
- Let them be the photographer for the day, the view from their height is far different....the important things, are just that...they're important to them...Gotta love the steps up to the museum. If they weren't there, you couldn't go inside!
- Kiss in front of them. Hold hands in front of them...Guide them to know what love is.
- Send them flowers
- Ride a roller coaster with them
- Teach them patience
- Let them fail, don't do it for them...Be there when they turn to you, and guide them - Don't TELL them, or remind them of their failure...they know full well where they are already
- Sing them lullabies, because you're a Lullaby Grammy Winner in their Book
- Greet them in the morning, and send them off to bed with a snuggle~Rituals are important
- Go on a picnic
- Make sure to have some good Monster Spray on hand...Lysol works wonders in those wee hours of the night.
- Know everything there is to know about their hero or heroine
- Remind them it takes all kinds to make this world go around. You won't like everyone.
- Take them to the see new babies, weddings, and funerals~The cirlce of life is truly amazing and a gift~Teach them to treasure theirs and others as such.
- Make a bird feeder and watch the birds come to eat from what they've provided for them~no matter what age, they love it
- Know that respect is earned, not given. You earn their respect too. Respect once lost, is hard to earn back...don't let go of the possibilities, and don't bank on it being there forever, because you own a title of "Mother" or "Father"...Be who you want them to see.
- Stay in your jammies one day-the entire day and watch movies
- Eat Fondue
- Have a tea party.
- Learn something with them...do the research...about something neither of you know about~Learn together
- Know where the lava is in your house. It's important
- Have a dog once during their childhood
- Cry in front of them, let them know you're human
- Love them every stinkin chance you can get....These my friends...are our children. Our future. Your future.
